Samsung Sells 10M Galaxy S in 7 Months

The leading mobile phone provider, Samsung Electronics Company Ltd,, announced that they had sold 10 million of its Android Galaxy S smart phones.

The milestone was reached in less than 7 months after the Samsung Galaxy S Android was launched in June of 2010.


Introduced by JK Shin, Samsung Electronics President and Head of Mobile Communications Business last March 2010 at CTIA Last Vegas, the Android-powered Galaxy S incorporates a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen and 1 GHz application processor that enables vibrant HD videos, rich augmented reality content through LPB (Layer Power Browser) and advanced LBS (Location Based Services).

The Galaxy S has set a new standard in smartphones and outperformed even our expectations. We are proud of this achievement, to sell 1.4 million devices per month clearly demonstrates the consumer demand for relevant, empowering mobile experiences. We will continue to meet this demand, delivering leading innovation and building smartphones that will maximize user's experiences.

In support of Samsung's drive to create unique mobile experiences, NBC Universal Digital Studio will produce the scripted comedy "FCU: Fact Checker's Unit" which will be air on the US on broadband, mobile and video-on-demand. The comedy series highlighted the capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy Smartphones, as it also marked the digital series had been distributed globally at launch for the first time and viewed by over 4.5 million viewers.
